We are currently involved in two promissing research projects that will advance the science and knowledge in groundwater remediation:
2010-2013 Gas-Enhanced In Situ Thermal Treatment for Rapid Site Remediation - NSERC Strategic Projects Grant
with Dr. B. Kueper and Dr. K. Mumford, Queen's University
2011-2016 Innovative Combined Treatment Technologies for Remediating Contaminated Groundwater
Ontario Research Fund (ORF) Research Excellence Water Round Grant
Prof Sleep is the lead investigator with 7 other co-investigators
January 2012: We welcome Salman Sabahi, a PhD student from Iran that will stay with us for 1 year working on modelling groundwater contaminant transport
October 2011: We welcome Dr. Glaucia Lima back to our team. Dr Lima finished her PhD in January 2005, under Prof. Sleep's supervision, and now she joins our team again as the ORF Project Manager
June 2011: Prof. Brent Sleep's Water Research Group Receives over $3 Million from Ontario Research Fund
May 2006: We have a new dynamic headspace sampler for use in gas chromatography, funded by an NSERC RTI Grant
April 2006: Congratulations to Magdalena Krol for sharing a first place prize at the Lassonde Poster Party
April 2006: We have received funding from the Ministry of the Environment Best-In-Science Program to conduct research on bioremediation of nonaqueous phase liquids in fractured rock, with Professor Gideon Wolfaardt, Ryerson University and Dr. Kent Novakowski, Queen's University
February 2006: We welcome Dr. Hongyuan Liu to our group as a visiting scholar
January 2006: We have joined the Source Area Bioremediation Consortium (SABRE)
December 2005: We welcome Dr. Shujun Ye to or group as a post-doctoral fellow
