Civil Engineering is concerned with virtually all aspects of the urban habitat and the interactions that exist between the built, natural and human environments. Our research creates the knowledge that drives the construction sector, an industry that accounts for 11% of Canada’s gross domestic product and is responsible for a built infrastructure that is worth more than $5 trillion a year in Canada alone. An industry of this size and importance has immense potential to fund research and to benefit from its results.
