Student Joins U of T's Delegation at UN Climate Conference

This December, the world will meet in Copenhagen, Denmark to forge a new international protocol to deal with climate change.  Civil student Robert Stupka is part of the U of T's Delegation to the conference, and is planning several exciting events to raise awareness around this vitally important topic.

The Times Higher Education 2009 World University Rankings has named Engineering at the University of Toronto number one in Canada and eighth in the world in overall quality, reputation and facilities.

New Mining Innovation Centre Receives $20-million in Funding

The University of Toronto announced today a combined $9-million investment from mining entrepreneur Pierre Lassonde and Goldcorp Inc., a gold mining producer, to help fund the construction of and scholarships for a new, $20-million mining research and innovation centre at UofT.

According to a Globe and Mail report, Mr. Lassonde intends to make the centre one of the top five mineral institutes in the world.

Civil-Mineral Career Fair Coming January 7

We will be hosting our annual Career Fair again this January 7th, 2010 in the Lobby of the Medical Sciences Building at 1 King's College Circle.  The Fair will specifically target all Civil Engineering, Lassonde Mineral Engineering and Engineering Science Infrastructure Option students as well as Civil Engineering graduate students (approximately 800 students in total).
