English Language Requirements

Prospective Graduate Students

When to Apply:

Ontario High School Students who are enrolled in grade 12 courses receive the Ontario Universities' Application Centre (OUAC) form from their school guidance offices in the fall. Depending on your background or on the program(s) you have applied to, you may be asked to provide proof of English facility, academic records and/or to complete a supplementary form.

Your school will send your marks to OUAC in early March. If you have completed or are taking courses at more than one school, you must make sure your current school has all of your results.

Minimum Requirements:

Ontario Secondary School Students complete the Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent as well as:

Six Grade 12 U/M Courses specified by the Faculty.

English (ENG4U)
Calculus and Vectors (MCV4U)
Chemistry (SCH4U)
Physics (SPH4U)
Advanced Functions (MHF4U)*
1 additional U or M course

Proof of English Facility


MEng	Mid-B average or international equivalent in each of the final two years of Bachelor's study.
MASc	A- average or international equivalent in each of the last two years of Bachelor's study.
PhD	A- average or international equivalent in each of the last two years of Bachelor's and Master's study.
All Programs	Must fulfill English Language Requirements. Must also meet the School of Graduate Studies minimum requirements.
